Head of Internal Control

Our client is a growing logistics organisation in an ambitious period of change. The company is seeking a Head of Internal Control to design and embed a robust control environment underpinning both day-to-day operations and the wider transformation programme.

This is a newly shaped, high-visibility position with a genuine mandate to build. The successful candidate will take ownership of the group’s internal control framework, assessing the current state, identifying gaps, and implementing a scalable model of financial and operational controls. This will involve close partnership with finance leadership, operational management across the network, and the teams responsible for ERP implementation and process harmonisation. As the transformation progresses, they will ensure controls are designed into new systems from the outset.

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with a strong grounding in internal control, risk, or audit, ideally gained within a Big Four practice before moving into industry. Experience of building or overhauling control frameworks within a multi-site, international environment is essential, and exposure to logistics or a comparable asset-intensive sector would be a distinct advantage. Just as important is temperament: someone comfortable with pace, ambiguity, and driving change.
