Our client, a Private Equity backed retail group with operations across APAC, Europe, and North America, is seeking a Finance Systems Lead to take ownership of day to day finance systems activity during a period of significant transformation. This interim role requires someone who blends strong finance process understanding with hands-on systems capability and truly understands how finance operates and how modern systems should support it.
Working above the group’s ERP, you will play a key role in redesigning finance processes and driving systems automation in a sustainable, scalable way. The business is looking for someone who has implemented or improved tools such as AP automation, expense management systems , financial close tools, and the use of SharePoint as a finance portal. Experience selecting or implementing consolidation systems will also be valued as the business continues to streamline its international reporting environment.
This role will suit a systems accountant or finance systems specialist who has demonstrated genuine process improvement – moving teams away from manual, Excel-heavy workflows and into well governed, easy to maintain system solutions. Strong people skills are essential, as you will work closely with finance teams, IT, and external vendors to drive adoption, influence behaviours, and embed new processes across multiple geographies.
The role is hybrid, based in Sydney, and is currently an interim opportunity for an expected duration of 6 months, however may lead to a permanent role.
