Assistant Group Chief Accountant

This is a role for someone who finds consolidation technically interesting — not just procedurally familiar.

We’re a fast-growing international group, actively acquiring across Europe. Our Group Finance function is expanding and we need a senior accountant who can own the technical accounting at the centre of it.

What makes this role different:

You’ll be the organisation’s primary IFRS authority and most senior LucaNet specialist — not just a user of the system, but the person who architects and optimises the consolidation logic as the group structure evolves.

The technical substance of the role:

– End-to-end subgroup consolidation — intercompany, capital consolidation, at-equity treatments

– IFRS technical guidance across international teams (IFRS 3, IFRS 16 and beyond)

– LucaNet key user — advanced multi-level group structures, consolidation configuration

– Group Accounting Manual ownership and IFRS policy development

– M&A accounting support — PPA under IFRS 3 through to post-merger integration

– Consolidated audit coordination

– Harmonisation of accounting policies across European subsidiaries

You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

– Deep, hands-on IFRS expertise — particularly IFRS 3 and IFRS 16

– Extensive LucaNet experience at a structural/configuration level

– Several years in Group Accounting, ideally from a Big 4 or complex international corporate

– Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)

– Fluency in both German and English

If you’re a Group Accountant who wants to step into a Deputy leadership role where your technical judgement genuinely shapes how the function is built — this is worth a conversation.
