We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager with a proven background in the travel industry.This is a pivotal leadership role within a growing, entrepreneurial business and requires a finance professional who understands the financial complexities specific to travel.
The Role
You will take full ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and strategic insight to support sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full responsibility for the finance function, from transactional oversight to strategic reporting
- Preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Cash flow management and margin analysis across bookings
- VAT compliance, including detailed knowledge of TOMS (essential)
- Reconciliation of supplier payments, commissions, and client deposits
- Oversight of payroll and operational payments
- Development and strengthening of financial processes and internal controls
- Financial modelling to support pricing strategy and commercial decisions
- Management of year-end accounts and liaison with external accountants
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role within the travel industry
- Strong working knowledge of TOMS and travel-specific VAT regulations
- Experience managing client funds, supplier reconciliations, and commission structures
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
- Strong systems knowledge
- Commercially minded with the ability to operate in a fast-paced SME environment
