Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will be working within the Investment Operations team. Working with the Administrators, Bank operations and Investment team to ensure trades are completed.

Duties / responsibilities:

  • Help to manage the UK Operations Team and work closely with other Operations teams globally
  • Manage the enhanced operational support to the teams in Portland and Miami. This includes undertaking all the US reconciliations & the Composite sign off process
  • Oversee and implement new accounts within Charles River. Managing single and multiple account on-boarding projects for both Discretionary and Advisory (IAT)
  • Manage the implementation of Global Compliance Projects within Charles River Discretionary & Advisory (IAT)
  • Oversee the coding of all Compliance tests in Charles River for the New Capital Funds & Discretionary & Advisory accounts
  • Monthly and Quarterly Discretionary performance calculation within Beecomp. Point of contact for all Discretionary performance related queries
  • Manage the updates of UK Asset Allocation Models in Charles River Discretionary
  • Implementation of new operational procedures & processes to reach Audit requirements
  • Structured Products – reviewing classifications and back-testing analysis
  • Ensure the General Directives, UCITS, FINMA and Insurance Mandate tests within Charles River meet the current guidelines.
  • Maintaining the security master within Charles River
  • Fund trading (New Capital Funds)
  • Trade settlement Issues
  • Review of trading breaches
  • Interact with back-office and front-office staff and various fund administrators around the world; Europe, North America and Asia

Additionally, all staff are expected to:

  • Keep their knowledge up-to-date regarding market and regulatory developments, as appropriate to their role
  • Treat customers fairly and act in their best interest offering a transparent, efficient and professional service

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Good analytical skills
  • Good IT skills, with particular knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of Charles River
  • Good time management skills
  • Proven experience in asset management operations, preferably with some experience in the middle-office of an asset management company, hedge fund or private wealth manager
  • Demonstrable experience of running projects
  • Good knowledge and experience of various investment fund structures (UCITS, Trusts, On-shore and Off-shore structures)
  • Fund accounting and reconciliation experience
  • Strong excel spreadsheet skills

Required qualifications:

  • Numerical or Economics Degree
  • IAQ or IMC preferred
