Interim Accounting Manager and Financial Controlling Manager – 2 roles

We are recruiting on behalf of a global PE backed organisation. They seek an Interim Accounting Manager and Financial Controlling Manager to be ideally based in or within travelling distance of Romania, both roles will be working remotely on a 6 month contract to start immediately. Applications for both roles will ideally come from someone based in Romania or someone who is prepared to move (when Covid allows) to live in Romania. However, for exceptional applicants, it may be possible to work 80-90% remotely and travel as and when needed to the client’s site in Bucharest.

As the Accounting Manager your role will be to perform development by coordination, organisation and control of the accounting activities and financial reporting in compliance with the local and group specific accounting and tax regulations.

You must have experience of working with listed companies, to organise, guide and lead the efficient development of the group of companies from the Romanian accounting division and reporting activity, overseeing the implementation of the accounting principles, and the evaluation, organising and participation in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closing accounts, performing reconciliations and verifications for all accounts in the balance sheet, as well as reporting to Corporate.

For this role you must have proven experience in accounting & reporting using IFRS and local GAAP, confidently prepare the monthly and annual reports required by the head of the finance department, prepare the quarterly / annual financial statements according to the requirements of the Romanian authorities.

As the Accounting Manager you will monitor the legislative framework to identify any legislative changes that have an impact on the activities of the accounting team; whilst ensuring the accuracy of all reports required by the Romanian authorities and the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

This is a technical accounting role, you must have previous listed company experience, accounting & reporting experience using IFRS and local GAAP to an advanced level, as well as being proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint), of accounting software ERP – SAP and of reporting software (e.g. SAP – FC).

You will hold a University Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar, ACCA certified would be advantageous, you must speak fluent Romanian.


The Financial Controlling Manager will work within the Romanian Commercial Operations team, controlling coordination and providing the consolidation platform, you will be in charge of the consolidation and reporting at the Romanian Commercial Operations level (sales, P&L, HC, budget/reporting packages).

You will work on business controlling, budgeting & planning, reporting (corporate, local management) activities, supporting the Commercial Operations business according to the company’s global strategy, playing a key role in implementing and driving internal procedures as well as compliance to local rules and regulations in force, and you will also be required to assess the financial and business risks.

Your role will be to provide guidance to the Commercial Operations Controlling team in order to coordinate the operating mode (flows, objectives, deadlines, responsibilities) and ensure consistency, in charge with the Romanian Commercial Operations business by leading the controllers to provide business partnership and support in order to reach the financial objectives.

For part of the role you will be responsible for the consolidation and reporting at Divisional level (monthly dashboard, budget packages) whilst supporting the business partners and constant contribution to processes and results improvements.

For this role you must have experience of working with listed companies with a solid experience in the controlling field, pharmaceutical industry experience would be an advantage.

Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint), of accounting software ERP – SAP with knowledge of local and European legislation in the financial field, knowledge of English and Romanian operation of information systems.

You would hold a University Degree in Finance or economics, you must speak fluent Romanian.
