Job Description

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum Excellent bonus and benefits

Overview of the Role

The ideal incumbent will have the energy and enthusiasm to be involved in a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to, producing numerical analysis to support advice, preparing initial drafts of advice materials, and dealing with client queries. We would expect work to be completed to a high standard, and for you to work with the lead consultants to offer pro-active advice and deliver a high quality service. Individuals that join us will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of clients differing in size and complexity and ranging from traditional advisory to full fiduciary.


The balance of responsibilities within the role will be determined by the skills and interests of the candidate to some extent – we employ a wide variety of people ranging from the more technically focused to those with a talent for engaging with people and developing strong relationships. We are seeking an Associate who:

  • Has a genuine interest for investments and a desire to problem solve
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and works collaboratively in a team environment
  • Is highly organised in managing their time, including working well under pressure and dealing with competing priorities
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to take on a variety of tasks with an inquiring mind
  • Has a desire to meet and present to clients
  • Has a desire to understand pension scheme liabilities and actuarial concepts
  • Produce accurate numerical analysis to support advice
  • Ability to work and collaborate with other business units to meet client requirements
  • Writing of high quality client materials in line with required timescales
  • Deal with client queries proactively
  • Over time, developing relationships directly with clients and managing the day-to-day activities

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least a 2.1 preferably (not limited to) a finance, economics or numerical based degree/qualification
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and in particular, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Basic knowledge of investment markets and asset classes
  • A basic understanding of pension schemes
